In Belgium, the legislation on ambulances varies from one region to another, it may seem strange for a small country like ours but our rights in terms of emergency services are different depending on whether you live in the north or the south of the country, and the Brussels region still responds in a completely different way to the emergency services needs of its inhabitants, with a significant delay compared to other regions. It is indeed difficult to imagine that today no legislation has come into force for the capital and its surroundings. Just think, 20 years after the turn of the millennium you call an ambulance in Brussels and the person who comes to get you, in all legality, will never have followed the slightest course in emergency care, a Belgian aberration.

First of all, make sure you use an ambulance service approved by all mutual insurance companies in Belgium . Although this is not a quality label or a guarantee of dealing with real professionals, it limits the risks somewhat since some mutual insurance companies refuse to reimburse certain unrecognized services. For our part, although we do not support this lack of decisions from our successive governments, we have still been able to take our own guidelines by only hiring staff who are trained and qualified in this area.

In Wallonia, for example, any ambulance service operating in the territory must have an approval number. To obtain it, it must first prove that its staff has undergone training. It then obtains an approval number which, in principle, allows it to become an ambulance service approved by all mutual insurance companies in Belgium since it is recognised by the state. In Brussels, this is not yet the case. The timidity of regional ministries to take responsibility is endangering the lives of an entire population because when you call an ambulance service, you are supposed to have health professionals. This is not the case since in Brussels, even today, no certificate or experience is still compulsory.

We have taken the lead for our ambulances both in Wallonia and in the Brussels region, we have qualified, certified and highly trained staff to deal with all emergency situations, our service is an ambulance service approved by all mutual insurance companies in Belgium, recognized and approved by the Minister of the Walloon Region, which attests to the training of our ambulance drivers and the adequate equipment in our vehicles, this approval in itself already constitutes a quality label since to obtain it in addition to the knowledge and monitoring of the staff we must prove that we have sufficient equipment, prove that it is regularly disinfected or changed, in short the seriousness of our company must pass all the tests imposed by the Ministry of the Walloon Region, we highly approve of this kind of initiative taken by the government of the Walloon Region, it is still unthinkable that today a city like Brussels can leave ambulances without a professional crew and without adequate equipment, some are in a more than deplorable state, it is still a question of the life of the inhabitants.
